Who is Marius J. Monsen?
I’m a guy in the mid-thirties, father of two, and live in Bergen, Norway. I’m a specialist in web design, mobile apps design, usability and user experience design, information architecture, interactive design, product- and concept development for interactive solutions, and typography and graphic design.
I’m employed at Vizrt as Senior UX Designer.
Originally a typographer and graphic designer, with some sabbatical time studying Art History at the University of Bergen, I have firm roots in the creative and craftsmanship part of design and visualization. Since 1999 I’ve focused on front end design and concept development for web and mobile devices, aiming to bring good design, typography and great user interfaces and experiences to the screen.
This is my portfolio site, it’s still work in progress. I’ve added only a few projects so far, but more is coming.
How I do things
The approach is simple. Understand the target audience – and create user centered, visually appealing and engaging design to inspire the end user.
Good design comes from good ideas. Great design isn’t just pretty, it has to be smart. Smart, not only in form – but also in function, usability and accessibility.
